Default 99 T&C (LHD US IMPORT) 3.8l Front Blower only works on high speed!

Hi Folks,

I am new here and have a minor problem that is majorly annoying!

I have a 99 LHD T&C that we imported from the US a few years back that has been absolutely fine until now.

The front blower now only works on the highest speed setting and I donīt know why!

If it helps anyone, it does not have auto climate control, it is just the two sliders.

Hopefully someone will have some ideas as to how I can try to sort this.

Thanks

Dean

You have several repair options.

1: take it to a professional shop and have it professionally fixed

2: Get a wiring diagram and a multimeter and do your own diagnostics

3: start throwing parts at it hoping to fix it

4: just guessing, since I have seen numerous failures exactly like this, probably needs a new resistor block and/or connector.

Default Blower resistor

Hello,

I concur with the other recommendation to replace the blower resistor. Your symptom is a classic case of resistor burn out. I had the same thing happen on my 01 Concorde. I would get the Haynes manual to locate the part. It's probably up under the dash on the passenger side, held in with two screws and 1 wire connector. You should be able to see it from the passenger footwell. A little awkward to get to but only takes 20 minutes to remove and replace. Search the new part on Ebay, that's where I got mine. Good luck...Bill
