Default Brake lights

My brake lights stay on when i shut off my 2013 Town and Country...i have reached up along the brake pedal bracket and wiggled what i think would be the brake light switch.....when i did the lights went off....my dome lights atay on so i shut them off manually.....i have reluctantly disconnected the negative terminal from the battery fo avoid what might be a parasitic battery drain....suggestions?

Sounds like a faulty switch. The brake lights should go off when you turn off the ignition so no chance of them draining the battery. If they stay on with the ignition off then you've got a short somewhere. The dome lights are on a timer so stay on for a few seconds after locking the car.
