Centre Console Back Lights Not Working

Centre Console Back Lights Not Working
Dear Folks,
I have search on the forum but without any success. I have a 2001 Grand Voy 3.3Ltd (UK Version). It would appear the all my back-lights for the seat-heater,rear-wiper and heating buttons have stopped working. However, the little LED for the Fan control and air-direction work.
I have visually check all the fuses - but can't see what I have to do to fix this problem.
As you folks appear to be the font of knowledge, I was wondering if anyone can suggest a resolution to get my center-console back-lights to work :-(

RE: Centre Console Back Lights Not Working
To make it clear, are you talking about the "overhead" console actual lights themselves? Or the indicator lights on the dash pannel when selecting the rear heater, wiper, etc.. Hence, the dash indicatator lights or actual rear lights in the overhead console?
I am inclined to believe you are speaking of the dash "center console indicator lights" if that's the case and your fuses are good...(don't assume they are cause they look good, test them)... then you have probably lost a ground connection.. Have you made any changes to your equipment? Plugged in anything to the accessory/cigarette recepticals? If not, then look for an inline fuse you may have missed..
OK all you Chrysle tech's... log in and help him out..

RE: Centre Console Back Lights Not Working
Dear Doug45601
The lights not working are those on the center consoul not the overhead unit. Additionally, the needle lights for speedo and rev counter do not work and on lights behind the wing-mirror adjustiment and fog lights are not working.
Any idea where I can start to resolve this "bad-earth" or other problem?
In anticipation of your help, I thank you.

just wondering if anyone got an answer to this post?
I have had the car in a local garage to have a new water pump fitted which has taken 4 days!! (don't ask) anyway, I have just picked it up and none of the speedo needles light up and the green backlight behind all the buttons on the centre console do not light up so can not see my heater switch, rear wiper switch etc
I am hoping it is just a blown fuse but until tomorrow when I can see I have no idea.
not taking it back the local mechanic because he hasn't a clue.
Thanks in advance

There could be any number of things causing this to happen.
At this stage, I'd recommend visiting a Chrysler dealer rather than an independent garage as they may not be as equipped to repair your vehicle quickly and effectively.

Is the panel lights dimmer switch adjusted correctly? It's all controlled by the switch and the Body Control Module (BCM) bolted to the firewall left of the brake pedal (US spec). Could try a reset by either pulling the IOD fuse or disconnecting the negative battery cable for 5 minutes.

tried the dimmer just made the speedo backlight dim and get brighter, shall try the IOD fuse and disconnecting the battery in the morning, thank you.
Last time I use a small time local mechanic, he had to jump the battery too because it died, well I know why it died, he didn't take the key out of the ignition correctly and we all know that leads to a dead battery :/ just hope he hasn't messed anything else up whilst replacing the water pump

My tacho and the others are never illuminated .. not a very big deal because the background is lighted but it would be nice if all needles glow up too...
Maybe there is a separate light bulb to shine light on the needles or something?

ok just letting you know they are all back on again The IOD fuse was with the other fuses under the hood 15A, it looked fine but changed it anyway. I had the negative terminal off the battery whilst looking at fuses so that might have helped but after changing the fuse and connecting the negative back on the battery all is working as it should. nice red glowing needles and I can see my centre console buttons once again thanks a lot guys and hopefully this will help anyone else who has had the same issue
