Door Lock Problem.

Problem solved !
In case this helps anyone else stuck with the same dilemma ( dead electrics and can't open door with key ). Probably not recommended but it worked.
Fortunately, there is no under-tray below the front of the engine compartment. I could, therefore, get access enough to put a positive feed on the starter motor and a negative feed on the gearbox ( from my charger ). This put current into the system and I could unlock the doors with the remote fob. I only did this for a split second in case any damage was done ( anyway, the alarm sounded as soon as I made the contact, but stopped as soon as I unlocked the doors ).
Access gained, hood popped, battery charged, everything working normally, so no harm done ( apparently ). Gave the car a good run and all seems fine.
Of course, the parasitic drain will still be there, but that's another job for another day..........

It may not apply to your 2008 model but see my post at the bottom of this page: https://www.chryslerforum.com/forum/...d-28405/page3/

The AMP on my 2007 model was located behind the plastic panelling above the offside rear wheel. Difficult to see and more difficult to get to. The connection terminals on the AMP had eroded and were causing a short between the power connectors.
