electric opening boot
i have recently got a 2002 grand voyager limited everything seems fine apart from the boot doesn't open or close by button on roof as only have the key with no fob. you push the button inside to open it and the beeping Will start and you hear a few noises but doesn't seem to want to release off the lock. where can i get the fob from cheap

If the boot is not opening from the button inside I doubt a fob would work. 1st check that the car is fully unlocked by using the lock/unlock button by the window switches, make sure it's in park or engine off and then try the overhead button. If it still doesn't open then a fob definitely wont work.
For a replacement fob, you may have to go to a main dealer to get one coded, but try making a few calls to auto locksmiths to if they can do it.

tried that the beeping starts it clicks once and about 5 seconds later it clicks again. to open the boot manually you have to hold the key in lock to unlock position and hold the release thingy under sill

Theres a few things check, from the manual.
Inoperative Power Liftgate Module or BCM - Disconnect then reconnect the battery negative cable to reset module. Cycle the power liftgate, if the power liftgate is still not operating properly check for loose wire connections
Inoperative latch assembly - Check for blown fuse and loose wiring connections. Check for foreign matter preventing the operation of latch assembly. Replace latch assembly as necessary
Inoperative motor assembly
Inoperative full open switch
Binding or sticking of components - Establish location of binding and replace components as necessary
