engine dies unexpectedly
My first post and I'm in need of some troubleshooting assistance. I have a 1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager with 255K. I have replaced the engine about 60K or so ago (Jasper). It has been running like a top until about 2 months ago. My wife usually drives it and she says she'll be driving along and the engine just quits. The strange thing is no warning lights pop up (alt check eng etc) she puts it in neutral and it starts back up and it is fine. It seems to do it when the A/C is running. If it is off it seems to be ok. It has done it stoped at a light or rolling down the road. Today it happend to her 6 times in the span of 30 min or so. I'm stumped! Does anyone have a clue what could be going on???
Here is what I have replaced recently:
A/C compressor (original one finally gave up the ghost last fall)
Ignition switch assembly (lock cyl and switch) This spring
I appreciate your help
Thanks
Tim B

RE: engine dies unexpectedly
my guess:
-one of the contacts on the ignition switch that you changed. try finding it's connections and shake them, see if they're loose.
-crankshaft sensor looses signal when getting really hot. hence, PCM shuts down the engine.
