Error Codes (P1130, P0520, P1685, P0100, P0641, P0190)
Hi There,
I have and UK registered, 05 2.8 CRD car and I never checked the Error Codes before today.
The car drives fine, good MPG, starts every time.
I just checked the codes after reading in here the key ( turn on- turn off 3 times method)
To my surprise, there were lots of codes displayed (P1130, P0520, P1685, P0100, P0641, P0190).
My car seem OK and I cannot see any problems.
Can they be historical codes (problems that previous owners would have sorted out and never erased the codes)?
also, the order in which they were displayed : is that the list that they ware logged?
Also some codes flashed on the dashboard for 10 times while others only once or twice. Does it matter how many times each code was displayed?
Can it be a faulty ECU that randomly displays codes?
I did look on the forum and there are no answers I can get so please if you can answer any of the points about I will appreciate your help
I wish I did not check the Error Codes (at least without checking I had peace of mind)

P0's --- are all GENERIC TROUBLE CODES
P1's --- are all MANUFACTURER CONTROLLED CODES
P00's --- are all GENERIC CODES
10 flashes means 10 separate occurrence of that fault whereas for example 4 means 4, and yes they can be historical. If your having no problems be a happy man, and congratulations.

Thank you very much
I tried to clear them; I purchased a tool to read errors and clear them, but the tool says there are no errors (the tool works as it connects and can communicate with engine because returns some information from the ECU)
So one dash, codes are displayed (when key is on-off tree times), there is no problem with the car, the ODB reader returns no error codes
I am still puzzled by why they are there, but since no problems I am starting to ignore them
Regards

The 'key-dance' will as you know return your basic codes, as you have no problems, you have no live errors, stop being a 'werrit' ! Best of luck.
