Unhappy Front Seat DVD

I am the owner of a 2010 T&C Limited with upgraded #730 Media Center. I can not get the front (dash) screen to view a dvd. I have the car in park with emergency brake on and the play option on the touch screen is grayed out. I called Chrysler and they suggested I returned to the dealer. I took the car back to the dealer who fooled with it for 45 minutes and finaly said it was a state law (Fl) that it can not be opperated. The manual says some state laws prohibit viewing as a result it "may be" disabled prior to delivery. Consult your dealer for proper enable / diable setting for your state. Does anyone know how to determine if I am disabled or better yet how do you enable it ?

The enable/disable function is done with a scan tool. You should be able to at least watch it while in PARK. Go find another dealer if this one's gonna be a pain in the ***.

In California it's against the law to play a DVD while driving the vehical much like it's against the law to use the cell phone for calls or texting so it's possible you might not ever atleast while in California to use it. But it should work in Park. It's to prevent accidents from distracted drivers
