Default Funny noise from engine! 2.4 LX 'Y' Reg

We have a funny noise, I can only describe it as a wirring noise/maybe a continual buzz like a bee thats really annoyed and dont let up!!... it is generally worse on start up, gets a little quieter when the car has warmed up a bit but never goes away ... took it to a local garage who normally do the MOT's and has serviced our other Voyager before but they're talking about the cam belt (it seems to be too much of a local noise for that) ... they checked the auxillary belt apparently (took it off and started the car up, but the noise was still there) ... then they said while they're they're they'll look at the water pump (and replace it) ... then the oil pump (and replace it) ... then some tensioners (which Chrylser cant get the price of yet) ... this is a bill of already £600.00 without the tensioners on top ...

Anyone had a similar problem or any ideas of what it could be? ... As the garage dont seem to have found the problem ... so we could spend all that out only to find out that the car still has the noise!!! lol

Looking forward to some feeback

Oh and the oil light flickers on and off when its cold (first thing in the morning), then goes off for the rest of the day... Ive checked the oil and that is fine and the car only had a service in July by the dealer who originally sold the car and have done the subsequent services ... the car has only done just over 23,000 miles
