hi all i have aproblem with my 1997 grand voyager le at the weekend the thermostat died on me while sat on the drive while letting the car warm up ,as i needed it asap the thermostat was removed until then new one is fitted.the problem is my heaters run cooler than normal after i refilled the system .is there a bleed valve i need to open while running the system .
the thermostat will be here tuesday and i want to get car sorted asap .i hope someone can help me with some advise

Are you sure the it's the thermostat, did it overheat? Fan relay are more common to fail. but as to the heater it will run cold with no stat in it.

 

sure it was the thermostat asjust did southampton and back today nearly 190miles round trip and no overheating but will check fans which relay is the fan one hubby not home for 3/4days so have to sort myself

the fan module/relay is down the front below the air filter box. It's flat 4wires 2 screws hold it onto the body. Wait to you get the new stat in and just make sure the fans cut in when hot as the relay/module is not easy to test.

 

thank you very much thermostat has arrived just got to go and fit now

 

car now working fine it was only the thermostat in the end keeping the relay just in case
