Cool grand voyager 1998 locking engine via gearbox

hi guys i was wondering if anyone can help me i own a 1998 r reg grand voyager with 130,000 miles on it i experienced engine cut out at 60 mph after pulling over tried to restart engine it sounds like engine is siezed you hear a loud clunk but you can hear it trying to turn over very slowly so it spat gearbox oil all over the floor after a later examination i took the gearbox back plate off and two gear cogs fell out in my hand one of them had a shaft thro the middle which had sheared clean off i took the flywheel cover off and saw tiny peices of metal under the flywheel but it still sounds like engine lock up when trying to turn it over but a few people have said voyager engines do not blow up it is possible the torque converter has locked the engine in gear giving the impression that engine is siezed but in fact its ok so if anyone can please shed any light on the subject please help im desperate
