Head Gasket on '08 T&C
My '08 T&C has a leaking head gasket. I have been told the following and have no idea how legitimate the information is. Any reassurance or suggestions greatly appreciated.
1. In 2008 Chrysler went to a lifetime power train warranty, but made it not transferrable to subsequent owners, yes?
2. Have there been any service bulletins that might relate to warranty coverage for a second owner?
3. I have been told the work would have run approximately $900.00 but that the dealer will do the work for $400.00 since I was only weeks outside of the used car warranty. Does this sound like its in the right ballpark, or is someone blowing smoke up my tailpipe?
4. Re; the used car warranty, dealer says that they buy this coverage from an independent insurance broker and legally have NO flexibility in interpreting the guidelines. Make sense?
I hope these are appropriate questions for this forum and look forward to any information that members might offer.
Thanks,
Rob

T & C Headgasket
Kevin,
Thanks for your response. Had the dealer do the work; they replaced the head gasket as well as a front cover gasket, intake gaskets and a few others as well, and held to the $400.00. First time dealing with these folks but they seem to be playing it straight.
