Default Help she's DEAD! Voyager 2.5 CRD 2001

A couple of days ago my speedo stopped working and the drive became chuggy. Then whilst driving along yesterday the engine died. I tried to restart it, and everything sounded as it should except it would not fire up. Called the RAC who came and after several different approaches and the diagnostics plugged in i was told there was a loss of fuel pressure to the engine. Since then i have changed the fuel filter and on inspection the fuel is coming through the injection pipes at the top of the engine a lot more freely, but even though everything is still sounding right it it will not fire up! Any ideas

Do a key dance to bring up the "P" codes! Could be anything until you get the codes! Cam sensor/crank sensor! MAF, fuel pump ect...

The "disconnect the battery for a few minutes" routine is always worth a try because the micros control everything you can think of, especially as it costs nothing. Radio code may be needed of course. A stored glitch might be causing engine inhibition from immobilizer. Etc., etc., etc..... ad infinitum. Of course you'll write down any stored codes first...

Have you checked your glow plugs? Fuel is just one component you also need heat to get the combustion going or some damn good cranking. Perhaps check the fuse for your glow plugs. Although the relation between the clocks and poor running may suggest a problem with your BCM. Follow the advise already given and retrieve the codes. A key dance may mean nothing to you so what he means is turn your car on to the position where the odometer comes on then within 5 secs turn it to on position and back to odometer 3 times ending on the on position. If done correctly the odometer will start to provide you the stored error codes from the ECU. These will start with a P e.g. P1031. Return here with the codes and we can tell you what they mean.

Thanks for the advice guys but after some careful consideration I've decided to sell it on.
Thanks again!
