Keyless entry fault 2003 Voyager
I have a problem with the keyless entry on my 03 Grand Voyager. When I tried to unlock the vehicle with the remote a while ago it started to act erratically. At first it would unlock the drivers side (right hand side, here in Austraila) ok but not the passenger side. It would however lock all doors and the tailgate properly. Soon after that it would only unlock the drivers door but not the sliding door or passenger side doors and tailgate. Then it wouldn't unlock any doors but would still lock them all and after that it stopped locking as well. I disconnected the battery to try resetting the computer and after reconnecting all worked for a while but quickly regressed to not working again. I took the car to the Chrysler agents to get the car analysed and they said that without stripping all the door panels and checking all wiring and solenoids that they couldn't confirm what the problem may be other than suspecting that it is probably a faulty BCM. (They wouldn't say definitely without stripping the car and checking every possibility. And they charged over $250 for what they had already done, which was next to nothing....)
At least by disconnecting the BCM to do their tests the car unlocks the drivers door again and locks all the doors by the remote.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this or know how much a BCM unit might cost?
Thanks,
Craig.
