No dash power after installing aftermarket radio
I attempted to install a new kenwood into my 2007 Town and Country Touring. Everything seemed fine at first. Radio worked great. Then I tried to start the van. The van started up and then shut down after ten seconds. I figured out it was becuase the dash/guage panel had no power. This shut down the signal detection for the anti-theft device. The electronic keys did not work either. After checking through all the fuses, I tried sticking the old radio back in. Low and behold the van works fine with the old radio back in.
I checked through all my connections between the wirring harnesses. They seem correct with color to matching color. There are two yellow wires on the OEM harness that I attached to the one yellow wire from the radio harness, which may not have been correct. There is an orange/white wire on the OEM harness that I taped off as there is no such wire on the radio harness. There were two black wire on the OEM, hooked both of those up to the singel black on the radio. I left the plain blue wire on the radio taped up. Did hook up a blue/white to a blue/white. I have no idea what has gone wrong and would be grateful for any ideas.
