Passenger Power Door opens while parked
Hi Everyone - I've recently bought myself a 2008 Grand Voyager Touring 2.8 CRD.
and in the first week (i've had it for 3 now) I've noticed the passenger power door opens itself when parked up. It happens during the night and day at random times. Not consistantly - every 3/4 4/5 days.
I live on a fairly quiet safe street but I don't want to invite anyone who needs a ride.
Has anyone heard of this issue before???
Also, how do you change from km to miles?
Any help would be seriously appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance.

This sounds like a microprocessor glitch-freak. You can hard-reset all the micros by disconnecting the battery -ve for a few minutes, then reconnecting. Have your radiocode to hand as some radios completely lose it when you do this. Others just lose pre-set stations. If this action cures the problem, it shows glitches are affecting a micro. The most probable component behind it is the battery becoming sulphated, but not yet bad enough to inhibit cranking. This is only a suggestion of course, based on a theme of "most likely".

Thank you Leedsman - I'll give that a try this weekend.
I thought it may have been a case of the door not locking properly but I sat in and checked that.
Fingers crossed it's something as simple as disconnecting etc.
Thanks again!

I had the same problem with my previous Voyager, a 2004 GV. I eventually came to the conclusion that I must have been pressing the button on the fob while it was in my pocket, even though the button needs two presses to operate the door.

You certainly can open and close the car door[s] while you are inside the house. A worse one was when I told my Bro his car could be stolen any day, any time. His workshop out the back at the end of the garden and his proximity keys in his pocket all day long. I once opened my rear door when I couldn't find my car, instantly knew which was mine sticking above the height of the others.

My previous car, a Jag. S-type had a strange similar performance. When I parked it in a particular place to go to my favorite ASDA, I'd many times come back to it with the boot/trunk lid wide open. So I parked it round the corner from that spot, and it never did it again, AND I made sure the keyfob wasn't being accidentally pressed.
I concluded something on the same frequency of 2.4GHz was operating the bootlid, possibly a mobile phone or a leaky microwave cooker which also operates on 2.4GHz.
So... any kind of communication that is wireless isn't completely safe...

I've found the spare key has been at the bottom of the baby bag so it's been moved to a safe secure location. The previous times the doors opened between 3am/6am when we've been sound asleep.
It's been 24hrs so far and no phantom open door opening.
Thanks again guys.
