Default puzzling P0304 and P0300 HELP!!

2011 T & C Limited 158Kmi ( 3.6 LVVT engine ) - after sitting for a couple months I started her up and suddenly got those codes( never had an issue before). There was some chipmunk activity under the intake but NO chewed wires. I cleared codes and left for a trip to Georgia, about 800 miles into the drive the engine light came on again, I would clear the codes and they would show up again in a week or the next day ( very random). I have replaced coils, swapped coils, replaced plugs but still same codes. I used the proper champion iridium plug. I did notice some oil leakage from the front valve cover that was migrating around the right side of motor so I replaced valve cover gasket. Cleared codes and they came back within 10 miles! Now I have taken it to a dealer who has read the codes twice and they tell me it's the cylinder ( 5 grand to replace). I have taken good care of the motor, done some towing of my boat and just have a hard time believing I could have a cylinder issue ( valves, leakdown etc) Does anyone have a clue as to what it could be or a way to specifically diagnose the issue) I guess a leakdown test would prove the bad cylinder BUT for the sake of argument, let's say it isn't the cylinder. I've thought of trying to replace the wiring harness. I'm at my wits end, the vehicle is in great shape otherwise ( florida car!) PLEASE PLEASE anyone with an idea or who has come across this issue I would greatly appreciate your thoughts or remedies or diagnostic suggestions. Thanks
