Default replace my gig but keep the ves system working

the mygig in my van sucks. the bluetooth is worthless unless somebody calls me, the cd player picks and chooses when it wants to work, most of the time it doesn't see my iPod, and it doesn't like my android.
i want to replace the head unit with an aftermarket that works. i have the seperate dvd player for the ves.
can this be done? i am mainly tired of arguing with the car when i try to make a phone call. i will tell it to call one person and it will change my language.
i am ready to just smash it!!!!!!!!!!

Yes this can be done aftermarket, take it to a reputable shop nearby and pick out a good Pioneer, kenwood, JVC etc... unfortunately the head unit is not the only cost. I had one installed in a GM and the "extra" integration parts was over $300 to put in a $150 head-unit just so all the systems were working correctly and it would look factory. It was only $150 bucks to put one in my base model 02 T&C
