Default Replacing the centre console fascia...

Hi all,

Has anyone ever done this?

The car we have bought has the wood effect accents either side of the centre console and I do quite like the silver ones and have seen a replacement fascia panel for sale.

Does anyone know if it is an easy enough task to do? Would I need to take the SatNav and heater controls completely out to achieve it?

The fascia is a surround, i.e. it fits around the radio/satnav/dvd etc.
Carefully prise out the two plastic plugs at the top of the fascia to reveal the top two fixing screws.
Remove the ashtray then pull off the slim plastic trim directly above the hole where the ashtray was. You will see another two screws in that recess.
Then start pulling the fascia away, starting at the bottom and working your way to the top. It's very tight so you will need quite a bit of force. Resist the temptation to lever it with a screwdriver as this will likely damage the surrounding area.
I think there's a tutorial on YouTube how to do this.

Type Radio code into search then scroll down to..Remove radio to get code. You'll get more pictures on there.

While looking for that tutorial on YouTube, I first came across this one:

Cheers Guys

The only thing that worries me is that the new silver fascia I've seen doesnt have any controls or buttons in it, only the cut outs where they go..

For anyone that has had this panel off, does it look like the various buttons are easy enough to remove and refix into the new fascia panel?

Merle, if you don't get a reply on here then I can only suggest that you wait until you get your Voyager then remove the fascia and have a look at how the switches are fixed to it. I suspect that everything just clips in so it shouldn't be a problem for you.

I just did this swap, from wood fascia to silver one, tonight.

What a total doddle.!

Half an hour AND in the dark (with help from iPhone torch) and hey presto!

Will post a photo tomorrow.!

You don't?
You should try to get them somehow, they are great! You can actually "clamp" any size of cup in the holders. They are very clever design.

I'd forgotten that up there you have a lot less daylight hours than we do

Glad you got it sorted Merle.
