Unhappy Speedo not working

Hello all,

I have recently had to disconnect the battery to do some work on the car, now the speedo doesn't work!

I have done the reset on the instrument panel (Hold in trip and reset buttons) and the speedo flips round OK, all the other instruments are working OK too.

I have looked at the wiring and connections to the sensors and they look OK, could one of the sensors be faulty?

I would like to fix myself if possible before going to local stealer!!

Any advice appreciated.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery again? what work did you do on it?

I will try disconnecting the battery again, see what happens.

I replaced the fuel pump. It was making a nasty squealing whirry noise and then failed 100+ miles from home! Broke down at 4.30pm, got home at 12.20!!!!!!!

just a quick question, have you knocked at all the speedo sensor? (I only ask as I did when doing work on my rover and it cracked! I'm heavy handed sometimes!)

cost me a fiver and I bought the guy a drink at the local rover scrap yard!
