You prob know by now but its the exhaust for the cabin heater as it burns fuel to heat the rear pass area when temp is above certain level and there should be a amber light near right indicator arrow on dash- its got 3 vertical arrows over a horiz line

Don't worry its the exhaust for the rear heater which burns fuel. a light on dash lets ye know when its on . Its 3 amber vertical wavy arrows and its activated when you set climate above certain temp

interesting - I don't have the lights (unless the bulb has blown), I can hear when it's operating though.

The book says it should come on after you turn heat up 5 consecutive clicks so try that, its similar to heated seat/rear window symbol and to right near r turn signal arrow

sorry to gate crash but thanks for the answers I thought i had a broken exhaust when i saw it coming out the side,

does this apply to petrol too or just diesels, our first voyager before i wrote it off was petrol and didnt notice this pipe or any thing coming out.

The dash light may depend on your model-i have ltd xs with climate and book says it goes off after reducing int temp 5 consecutive clicks but recently in really cold weather it's not always on as temp left on max. When i bought car i unplugged unit underneath car coz its a taxi and i don't want it using my fuel @ £128.9 PER LITRE in uk and its warm enough inside once up to running temp.
