Default tire wear

I brought my 2005 Town&Country in for 2 new front tires because there was ALOT of wear on the outer edge on both. They replace tires and tell me that the inner tire rod ends are worn. But covered under warranty, they replaced the link sway, nut hex, and bushings (on receipt). My husband says the car only has 31000 miles on it. My question is why should I have had to pay for new tires when it was probably caused by the inner tire rod defect. Any advice on what to do. Thanks so much.

Good question. Only reasonable explanation I could give is that most of your wear on the trend was just from driving and not the tie rod ends. 31k miles is pretty decent for a pair of tires, Were they on for the full 31k miles and rotated on good intervals? We could look at it from an optimistic stand point, parts got replaced for free and even though you had to buy tires, You got new tires!
