Transmission shuddering,shaking in reverse
2011 Chrysler town and country Minivan Touring edition......My transmission just started shuddering and shaking when I put it in reverse. Its fine in any other gear. But when I put it in reverse after about 3 or 4 feet you can feel it shaking and shuddering as if its on a bumpy road. What causes this and what is the repair , and what is the cost of that repair?

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.

If you put the car in reverse and stay still with the brakes on, does it start to shudder at all after a short time or is it only when you actually start moving?
If yes then check the front brake calipers, I have seen it where one bolt comes out and the caliper slides back into the alloy when reversing only causing the juddering
Also when it does judder, if you switch back into drive and then back into reverse, can you reverse a short while before the juddering starts again?
Is there any slipping at all when in reverse?
If you put the car in neutral and push the van back yourself is there any juddering from anywhere at all? You will need a volunteer to help with this. If there is juddering when doing this, it will show the issue is not with the transmission.

The shudder is while moving usually with light or moderate throttle maybe as you go up a hill. Lasts a few seconds usually until you take foot off gas or apply more. No real slipping. Definitely not smooth riding with that. It seemed to improve after a few drain and fills (using fluid extractor). Thanks a lot for responding here. Lubegard red gets here tomorrow well see how it goes.
