My T&C 3.8L just turned 103k. We had the plugs replaced @ 101k and it runs alot smoother and a1-2 miles per gallon boost. Had dealer do it @ $199.00 (plugs and wires). Not worth trying to reach the back ones in my opinion.

with old plugs, chances for missfire are a lot bigger.
also, you put an extra strain on ignition system, becouse old plug requires higher voltage to fire a spark.

no special improvements with new plugs (if they are not too old). you may get a smoother idle. real difference is on higher engine revs.
great improvement that tntandc got from changing wires and plugs is becouse his old ones were pretty old.

I don't think so.

if it's an ignition problem (assuming that fuel supply is OK) than it's becouse of plug wires, not plugs them selves.

spark plugs would make this kind of problems only if they were very old and full of debrie.
but, you can see that if you take them out for inspection.

consult your dealer and see when do they need replacement.
becouse of irratic missfire, my guess is still plug cables.
