Default Wheels studs snapping off???

2002 Voyager with 125K miles.
Heck I snapped off 4 wheel studs removing my wheels to service the brakes. The last place to touch my wheels was the tire shop to rotate and balance. Is this normal or did they over torque the darn things? Replacing the studs is not a problem, I can do that. It just pisses me off to have to deal with it and it turns a simple jobs into something much larger. As a precaution I'm replacing all the wheel studs on the front wheels, I will most probably get back and do the rear ones sometime.

Well, honestly ..probably a bit of both.....

You are actually one of the lucky ones, to break the stud, instead of dislodging the splines in the hub....Those dont come out without alot of foul language and damage to the wheels.

I'm fortunate not to live in the salt belt. We hardly ever see (percentage wise) siezed lugs and studs. I do on occasion get to work on a salt car...I don't envy those techs one bit...lol

Put that way I suppose I'm lucky, better breaking off than spinning in the hub.
The lug nut threads were also messed up to add to my frustration.
Geez I'd like to use that impact driver on the tech's nuts...
