Low oil pressure shutoff?

Low oil pressure shutoff?
I have a chance to pick up a 1998 Breeze fom a friend of mine cheap but he had it a pothole and busted the oil pan. The engine shut off and he had it towed home. We filled it with oil and it fired right up and sounded ok so so I'm wondering if they might have some sort of low oil pressure shutoff. Whether or not the motor might still be ok is the deciding factor in whether I buy it or not.

I'm going to patch the oil pan so it'll hold oil long enough to get it up to operating temperature and check the oil pressure / listen for bad sounds. Hopefully it's ok and I'll just have to put an oil pan on it. If it's not, I found a good motor for $250 that I can put in it. I'm still curious as to if it has a low oil shutoff though.
What kind of fuel economy can I expect from one of these cars? (2.0L, automatic)

I patched up the oil pan and got it going and it sounded great. We let it run for a half an hour or so and there were no knocks, overheating, smoke or oil light. Unfortunately we discovered that when he hit the pothole he also broke off the motor mount bolts that go into the block and the motor would have to come out to fix them so I'm going to change the motor anyway. Also, I see now that it has the 2.4L, not the 2.0L.
Here is where the broken off bolts were.
How much fun is changing the motor going to be? At least I have access to an engine crane and low 4 wheeled cart to slide the motor out on and possibly a hoist if necessary.
