It would sometimes be useful when answering questions raised by forum members, if we at least knew which country they are located in. Can this question not be made mandatory, at least for new members.

I'm not an admin here, but you can usually get a general idea of the country of origin by the posts. If they are talking about a Chrysler Voyager, it's not from the US. It's called a "Town & County" over here and a Voyager over there. Any discussion about diesels originates in Europe or GB, Chrysler doesn't sell diesels over here. You can usually tell the Brits from almost any other country just by the language and spellings.
