Default 1998 Sebring Convertible won't start

I recently purchased a 98 sebring convertible. The car will not start. When the key is turned, nothing happens. I have a code scanner, and when plugged in it says to turn the key on, even though the key is on. By jumping the starter relay, I can get the motor to crank, and by squirting started fluid in, it will run for a second, so it does have spark. I had a buddy check the injectors, and he says there is no spark to them. I pulled the fuel line while cranking, and fuel does come out, and you can hear the pump if you put your ear to the tank filler neck. Do you think this could be a computer problem, or something to do with the alarm? The car does have the grey key. Is there any way to bypass the alarm? I really don't know what else to do from here, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

if it was the alarm issue u will have a red blinking dot on the insterment cluster. ANd no there is not a Cheap way of bypassing the SKIM thats the gray key. Possable PCM yes. If u have a keyless remote u can turn off the alarm. Or by locking and unlocking the doors via the driver ,passanger or trunk lid which ever ones u have.

There is a red dot that stays lit in the upper right of the dash cluster. I don't have an owners manual, so I'm not sure what that light is. It only stays on when the key is on, and it does not blink. Supposedly the guy I got the car from, said the car was running and then it died. They had a new computer put in, and then the car ran for about 2 months, and then died again. I'm thinking it's probably the computer, but I'm reluctent to go get another computer if that is not the problem. I also did use the remote to disarm the alarm, so that does not seem to be the problem. If a new computer was put in, would it recognize the key?

OK u have some sorta Key issue if the red dot stays on. There might be a transponder issue. Have a dealer check it out they can tell u what has the alarm on for ya.

Ok, I'll have to try and get the car to a dealer. Thanks for all the info. I'll post back after I get the results.
