2000 Voyager cutting out problem
I have a 2000 Grand Voyager. Recently the car would start and run for a few seconds and die-it would do this a couple of times, then go completely dead. Also, while driving the dashboard would either die or guages would go to the max. The car had no pattern to when it would play up-and at first I just had to leave it alone for a while-then it would just start as normal.
A quick fix I found on the internet was to hit the dash just above the gauges-this would allow the car to start and drive as normal-but would not allways clear the alarm light or return the dashboard back to normal.
Chrysler didnt know anything-found a local car electrician who checked the 21 pin plug (fine) then discovered the wiring loom that goes into the instrument cluster cicuit board had loose joints. He soldered the joints, and the car has been as good as new since. Cost-$200 Aust. I hope this helps somebody.
