89 Acclaim DTC 13,14 please help
Its never easy. Car is a 4 cyl and I was helping a poor kid out. Car was running ok except for pretty regular stalling driving around town. Checked codes and got 13 and 24, MAP and TPS. Checked voltage at MAP harness and got 5V. Kid ordered them and I offerred to install them for him. Installed MAP and car wouldn't idle and ran like crap. Reinstalled old one and same thing. Was just running fine before I started. Checked voltage at harness and now only got .3V
Now getting code 14 along with 13, and 24. Replaced TPS and got rid of the code 24 and car runs a bit better but still getting 13 and 14. Internet search indicates 14 is a voltage problem at MAP. So now I really don't know where to look for the voltage issue. I'm not really familiar with Chryler stuff and was just helping the kid out by simply replacing the MAP but now the car is not really driveable. I also noticed the tach was very erratic and the radio display would flash on and off sometimes but all the other acc. seem to work ok. Battery voltage was 12.5 so I put a charger on it and didn't help. Connections are clean. Now since this happenned while I was "helping" its my problem. This was suppose to be a simple 15 minute thing now is a whole can of worms. Anyone have any ideas? Anywhere I can look for info? I kind of desparate since the kid needs his ride. TIA
