i have recently bout a 96 cirrus that was running. I notice that the battery wasnt any good and that while car was running the lights were jumpy while car ran. Woke up next morning and put battery charger on car and notice while trying to start that i was not getting any spark neither did i hear my fuel pump coming on...so i immediately thought that it was my ecm because wen i turned my key to the on position my service enging and some other lights were not responding...So i went to the junk yard and got another ecm same year but a different p/n then mines...the junk yard had given me an interchange number that did match the make and year...so i put the new ecm in now service engine light comes on along with all other lights on dash and fuel pump working now car jus cranks wont start tested for spark and nothing any idea what it could be.

 

get the right part number for your van the junk yards guys dont know **** when it comes to what computers will swap over to different cars think about it why would they have different part number if they all would work the same?

 

i have the right part number it is an interchangeable number that a ecm website gave me same car and year...my computer number ended in 6275 and the one the junk yard gave me ends in 6213...i found that my plug for my distributor was not plug in...plugged it in but now car cranks getting gas and spark but will not start it sputters as if it wants to but jus wont start...also it sounds like it shoots gas back up from the intake wen i try in start it
