Unhappy 98 voyager ecu

ok well i posted here before about my elec problem with my 98 voyager 3.3. now i have been told that its the ecu. i had a guy tap it, and now its not that it just dosent crank over. the fuel pump in the gas tank is running constantly. even with the keys out. like i said before all the relays have been checked 4 times. fuses, everything. lights work. but just wont crank. obd2 giving no codes. please help!!

updtate: i switched the relays under the hood. (auto shutdown & fuel pump) the fuel pump stopped running. i switched them back and it started running again still wont crank when switched either way. could that bad relay stop it from cranking? thanks

"could that bad relay stop it from cranking?" Probably not, but if it's bad, might as well replace it. Did you check the neutral safety switch? It prevents cranking if not in Neutral or Park. Try wiggling the shift lever while attempting to crank.

"i had a guy tap it" What does that mean?

With a hammer? Or is that your way of saying he read the codes? Never heard that before.

Uh, light taps with a wrench are not a Chrysler-recognized service procedure. Perhaps he should consider the "bigger-hammer" method next time. Large hammers are known to be particularly effective on sensitive electronics.

If it was my van, I'd check the neutral safety switch. I would also refrain from beating on the computer.

tapping on the computer is a good way to see if the internal stuff is working or not if u tap on it and U start back up or the engine shuts down bad computer.

Well, well, well...you learn something new every day. Tell me, does that work very often? "Work" in the sense that it reveals the need to replace the ecu?
