Default Bad idle surge help

My wife's 07 aspen with the 4.6 has a bad surge when idling. It bounces from 400 to 1000 and at some points almost stalls. Any ideas what it can be. Please help

Truck runs fine just the rough idle. No DTC codes for that just 1 for the evap system.

Well it could be one of a few sensors. I might suspect the MAP sensor which can make the engine run rough, rich, rough idle or make the idle surge. I had the same problem with mt 06 Pacifica but my symptoms were much worse. Mine wouldn't run in drive. It would stall as soon as you touch the gas. I replaced the MAP sensor and it cured the problem. You could also have an throttle position sensor problem, intermittant temp sensor problem, along with a bunch of others, but I would try the MAP first. It's very easy to replace and is about $25. If it doesn't work you can always return it. Took me about 5 minutes to replace mine. Good luck..
