Default can key fob on 2004 T&C be programmed for a 2002?

I have a 2002 Town & Country Limited, which has a separate key and remote. I'm wondering if a combination key/remote key fob off a 2004 Town & Country could be programmed for my car?

I'm afraid I've answered my own question, but don't like the answer. Hoping somebody smarter will make me happy with a different answer.

The remotes have the same buttons, except that on the 2004, to open the power doors, you have to push the remote button 2x, and on my 2002 you only have to push it once, but I think that is the car itself that has to receive 2 simultaneous remote signals (to keep a person from accidentally bumping the button in their pocket/purse), but the remote itself is just sending the signals. Plus I've seen aftermarket remotes that cover both years of T&C, so I think that part would work.

But I can't find any blank transponder keys that claim they will work on both years of vehicle, so that is where I think my roadblock lies. Will a 2004 transponder key work on a 2002? If there is a difference, I wonder if it's the chip, or perhaps the key grooves are different.

Anybody have any insight on how I can get a combo key/remote key fob for my 2002?
