Is there any way to bypass the pcm to start the car? My dad bought a new key for his car, but it wont accept it when gets programmed. What can he do about this, the tech at the dealership doesnt know what to do? Thanks for the help guys.

The dealer will have to have the four digit PIN for the vehicle. They will also need to cut a blank transponder key to fit the ignition lock. After inserting the new key in the ignition and turning it to the "RUN" position, the tech will then use the DRB III scan tool and select "Theft Alarm", "SKIM", "Miscellaneous" and then "Program New Key". At this point he will need to enter the four digit PIN code for the vehicle. The DRB should then be able to program the new key. Have them make 2 keys if you are going to go through this. With two keys, you can program additional keys yourself (up to a total of 8 for the vehicle.)
If the car will not start at this point there may be a failure of the SKIM to communicate with the PCM or BCM which will require figuring out why that is not happening.
You can't "bypass" the pcm and start the car. The pcm controls the engine and is an integral part of the operation of the engine. Sometimes the system can get confused if there are two keys right next to each other. Make sure only one key is present when you attempt to start the car.
