Default Jeep Liberty - Window Problems

I own 2 2006 Jeep Libertys.

2006 Jeep Liberty #1 -Passenger window on the driver's side fell down (7-1-08) and will not close unless pushed up manually and will fall down after normal driving the next day.
Unfortunately the milage is 42,000 and repair is not covered and no recall has been issued due to the fact that it is not considered a safety issue.

I will deal with that issue later in this post.

The Chrysler dealer in Pinckney, MI said it would run approximately 250.00 to repair. The service manager mentioned that it is a common problem with the Jeep Liberty ( Boy am I aware of that)

2006 Jeep Liberty #2- driver's Passenger window fell down (12-15-08)and will not close unless pushed manually and will fall back down usually after the door is closed. Valuables are unfortunately needed to be stored in the vehicle while occupant is away from the vehicle.
Vehicle mileage unfortunately 39,000 and repair quote from Chrysler dealer in Mishawaka, Indiana for 500.00

Has anyone else out there had this problem?

Having a window fall down when traveling on a heavily congested highway in a snowstorm would be a serious safety issue.

HAVING SOMEONE REACH INTO THE OPEN WINDOW AND SNEAK INTO THE BACK SEAT SAY IN A SHOPPING MALL AT NIGHT WOULD PUT ANYONE IN A POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING SITUATION.

I could go on but I think you get the picture.

Call Carl at A&C Collision in Detroit (right near the Grosse Pointe border). Carl does excellent body work and I'm sure will fix your window for far less than the dealer. Alternatively, I'm sure there are guys in Pinckney (or down the road in Hell, MI) who can do the job for a reasonable number.
This forum is not connected to Chrysler so don't expect to get any results from the company by posting here.
