Default Tranny fixed, but wrong fluid put in by mechanic

Boy, do I need help here. I have a 2000 Cirrus that had a pretty good size leak in the transmission. After taking it to my regular mechanic who is normally very good he told me there was an inherent problem with these transmissions and there was a factory made kit to fix it.

He installed the kit for me and stopped the leak completely. I noticed he put in dexron transmission fluid to re-fill the tranny. I have read that if ATF+4 isn't used it can be a problem, big problem actually.

Can I just get the tranny flushed and re-filled with the correct fluid or am I already screwed?

I am a bit nervous because I called PepBoys and asked them if they could flush/fill the thing today and explained why. They told me they wouldn't touch it as there is probably already significant damage done and they don't want to be responsible.

The car has travelled less than 20 miles since the wrong fluid was put in. What should I do here?

Thanks

well u can take a gamble and ahve it flushed but if i remember right dextron will soften the clutches looks like your mechanic will be rebuilding the tranny for ya.
