Transmission Leak on 04 Sedan with 4cy
I have a 2004 Sebring sedan with a 4cylinder. Car has 52K on it. The transmission has been leaking for a few months. At first it wasnt much, but it is getting worse. Ive put some treatment in to stop the leak whichdoes work for about a week, then it comes back. I notice some fluid on top of the transmission when I pop the hood. After about 10 minutes of running the engine the oil light comes on.Any ideas what the problem may be? Im sure me waiting to clear this up isnt doing much good either.
Thanks in advance

RE: Transmission Leak on 04 Sedan with 4cy
Your last sentence probably sums it up - waiting doesn't help! However... if you are seeing trans fluid in the left front area above the pan line (where the pan is bolted to the trans case), you have a leaking solenoid pack. There are also two transmission cooler lines which attach to the right side of the radiator (as you look into the engine compartment) and they may be th source of your leak. Typically the ends can be clipped off and reinstalled. Hope that helps!
