46k on 84 NY possible odo reset?

Default 46k on 84 NY possible odo reset?

I just bought an 84 New Yorker.The odometer reads 46k . Is it possible the odometer reset after 100k?Any help is appreciated. Thanks

yes. from what i understand by law any vehicle older than 20 years, miles dont count for anything when selling a car. (if that makes any sense?) sorry its early

Yes it is possible as many of the older Chryslers could only read up to 100,000. A good way to check actual miles on vehicle is by service records if you have any, any notations under the hood (ie AC recharged 1/92 @ 32K) or if the odometer reading has to be noted on the vehicle's safety inspection sticker
