Greetings from Illinois
Hello All,
I am the proud owner of a pristine 2001 Sebring Convertible. It was purchased new by my father-in-law and babied for 12 years. He is at the point where he needs to let others do the driving, so we bought the car from him for our daughter. I'm planning to replace the passenger door power window regulator next month. I've watched videos of the repair and will find a service manual to familiarize myself with the process. Any of you dealt with this problem already? I'd very much appreciate your wisdom and would appreciate any guidance you can offer.
Thanks,
Mike

Get yourself a set of plastic trim tools to help remove the door trim panel. They cost less than ten bucks and are worth their weight in gold.
With an Xacto knife and/or a single edged razor blade, cut through the bead of sealant that holds the water dam to the door, leaving about half the thickness of the bead on the dam and half on the door. (it's a bit of a tedious process) Then, when you replace the water dam after finishing the job, line up the cut sealant and press it back together.
For sure, invest in a set of shop manuals for the car. Watch for them on eBay, they come up every so often. The full set includes 5 volumes including the convertible supplement.
Never mind the part about giving the car to your daughter unless she appreciates and will treasure an old car. Don't let the car wind up like this one:

This was another guy who wanted to have his daughter have a convertible. I guess she just wanted to tell all her friends on facebook what a wonderful time she was having.
