Need advice as well
I think I may have been a victim of fraud by a used car dealership. I bought a used chrysler sebring convertible 02 with "48,000" miles. However, when I had it inspected two months later, the car failed inspection. I was told that the tire rods were so worn down that it was very dangerous to drive. Is it possible for tire rods to be so worn down with low mileage? The carfax report that was provided said the car was a rental than had a previous owner before I bought it.
My car was totalled, an act of kindness to help a friend blew up in my face when she totalled it which left me carless, yet when I searched records, there is no record of the vin showing up as a total loss, which the insurance company told me it was, and strangely after the car was totalled, a guy from the place I had the loan from came to my door asking about the car. I told him it was totalled and where the car had been towed to and he said he does business with the place my car was a lot and knew where the place was.
The loan company is in New York. The guy said he drove all the way from New York, so how would he know where the garage was located when I didn't even know where the car had been towed? How can I find out if the car was fixed and re-sold?

I do want to specify, it was not a Chysler dealership or any other major dealership. It was a a small used car sale where they did in house financing in Northern Jersey. In my excitement to buy a car I failed to see that their interest rate for a loan was 35%. No wonder, after putting down $3175.00 on a $5995.00 car, along with their fees, the amount I had to repay jumped to $4500.00. When I would ask why the price was listed as 7200.00 plus their 600.00 fee on my receipt they kept giving me the runaround. After asking them to explain why the price was what it was three times, I gave up. I just fell in the love with car.
I have learned my lesson, but I love Chyslers now. I bought another Chrysler Sebring convertible this one is an '99. It needs a new top, do you know where I can find one where the price is reasonable? Or should I just go to a Chysler dealership?
