Smile Water leak in 1008 sebring convertible

Hi anyone and everyone. I am new to this forum - to any forum for that matter. I have a fabulous 2008 sebring convertible (red of course) with only 42,000 kms. on it. It stalled a couple of times for no reason and then re-started. Hope to keep going with that.

The main problem is water which is pooling in the floor well of the back seat behind the passenger. As far as I can tell there are no leaks in the hood, the seals or anywhere else. No water in any other part of the car.

Any ideas ? I live off the coast of BC and we get a 'LOT' of rain. thanks anyone feefymum

There are drains that are supposed to take care of water that runs down off the top and gets in where you don't want it. Check under the car along the flange that runs longitudinally between the front and back wheels. There are places where the metal is bent in such a way as to form a gap between the inner and outer pieces of metal. Carefilly stick a coat-hanger wire up into those gaps to make sure they are clear.

Make sure you are not getting leaks around the quarter windows where they meet the door glass and the top. Might need to sit in the back seat while a friend squirts the car with a hose.

Given your description of the climate a convertible may not have been the best choice.

A convertible is good for those days it isn't raining buckets, feefymum. I enjoyed mine, top down, even when it was probably too cold for a sensible person.
